MEDIA ALERT

Media Guidelines for the Global Seafood Market Conference

The reporting guidelines for media covering the 2013 Global Seafood Market Conference are the same guiding principles established for the 2012 symposium.

Reporting on analysis and discussion is encouraged inside the established attribution structure. Attributing quotes to individual participants and or speakers without seeking their permission after a session or speech is prohibited. Approaching a panelist or presenter after a session in order to interview them and or obtain permission to use their aforementioned quotes is encouraged.

NFI committee meetings are not open for reporting. While members of the media might be invited to join and even participate in certain committee meeting, unless otherwise instructed by the NFI staff-lead for the committee those meetings are not on the record for media.

Blog postings, vlog postings, tweets and social media updates are, of course, all on the record and available for reporting.

Media interested in connecting with presenters and analysts or discussing the guidelines should feel free to reach out to Gavin Gibbons or Lynsee Fowler for assistance.

For more than 60 years, the National Fisheries Institute (NFI) and its members have provided American families with the variety of sustainable seafood essential to a healthy diet. For more information visit: www.AboutSeafood.com.
