We've written a number of times about how Greenpeace uses selective reporting of the facts in pursuit of its radical agenda. One of the most glaring transgressions that Greenpeace and others us is to promote research findings that have either been debunked or even disavowed by the folks who initially published them.
Such is the case with Dr. Boris Worm, who once predicted confidently that the oceans would be emptied by 2048. Of course, Worm has since rather publically recanted that prediction, one that is normally paired with the equally specious claim that the only thing that will be living in the world's oceans by then is jellyfish.
Of course, a memorable talking point like that one is too good not to use, even after Worm decided to give it up himself. So, not surprisingly, over at Making Waves, the Greenpeace oceans blog, they’re trotting out the ole’ jellyfish line yet again.
Ahh yes, preaching to a devoted, albeit misinformed, choir while polluting the public debate about the environment and sustainability–it’s what Greenpeace does best… besides fundraising.
