Saffron and sardines

Lloyd was out of town all last week for work; hence the lack of real meal making that took place here.  He got home over the weekend, so now we're back on track.  Last night we made Sicilian-Style Pasta with Sardines.  It's really different, in a great way.  I was excited because I got to use a pinch of the saffron I received as a gift for our wedding (yes, one of our presents was a gift certificate for spices...my loved ones know me well).  I adore the intoxicating flavor of saffron, and since it's not cheap, choose any dish that I use it for carefully.  I deem this pasta "saffron-worthy" and would only change one thing next time I make it - double the sauce because it was so yummy...subtly sweet and just interesting.

I am a registered dietitian with the National Fisheries Institute, so fish is my nutrition forte. I earned my BA in Communication from Southwestern University, just outside of Austin, TX. During college, one of my very favorite evening outings was a leisurely trip to the grocery market. My passion for food was undeniable, so I combined both of my interests by earning my MS in Nutrition Communication from Tufts University in Boston, MA.
