I am finally home from FNCE in Denver, thoroughly unpacked, and partially over the multiple time-changes (I stayed up until a normal hour on Friday and Saturday, but last night I was physically in bed at 7:30pm - there was a little Madmen watching before actually falling asleep, but not much). In addition to the floor'o'food in Denver, I also ate with colleague
Today for lunch I made an easy-as-pie tuna melt with chopped
basil, mustard, and capers. The bubbly
cheese on top is aged Gouda! (definitely deserves an exclamation point)
The tuna mix-in combinations are endless. Here's a few off the top of my head...
Today I woke up with a tiny knot in my stomach, knowing that
it's my parents' last full day in Hawaii. After a fabulous week packed with the very
best activities this state has to offer, they're taking the red eye back to Texas tomorrow
night. And sadly, I'm not sure when I'll
see them again because we're not going home for the holidays. So it's going to be an unpleasant
good-bye. Luckily, I have a short week
and busy weekend coming up to distract me.

at the aquarium last Thursday evening had no fish, other than the live ones
of course. Since my week was turning out
to be pretty skimpy on seafood, I made sure to make my favorite tempting tuna wrap Friday for lunch.
