Who would have ever thought that my trip back to Washington, DC this week
for work would require more summery clothes than I am used to wearing in Hawaii? It is smoking hot and sunny in the city and I'm
loving it while it lasts. Thunderstorms
are expected started Wednesday through Saturday when I leave. But sunshine awaits me back in Hawaii!
We had a busy Saturday full of errands and entertaining, and
a lazy Sunday full of laundry and lounging.
I was happy that on Saturday we managed to fit in a trip to Tamashiros
fish market for more Ahi tuna (it was SO good last time), as well as Mahi Mahi
and scallops. A friend met us there to
see what it was all about (he ended up buying some Ahi too), and then we all
got lunch at the amazing Chinese restaurant from our honeymoon, Little
I am back home in Hawaii
today. I was telling my colleague that I
can't decide if the trip to and from Washington
is shockingly long or shockingly short.
But I think I'm leaning towards the later. It's amazing I can wake up two days in a row,
nearly half the world apart.
Upon my return there were no groceries. So after work today, in between many loads of
laundry, I am going to plan some meals and get over to the commissary. Here's what I'm thinking so far for the week...
